• Dutch Baker’s Museum ‘Het Warme Land’, ‘Bonbon Atelier A3’, ‘Anton Pieck Museum’, ‘Voerman Museum’ (the latter two are painters), Hattem
• Seven Hanseatic towns along the river IJssel: Kampen, Hasselt, Zwolle, Hattem, Deventer, Zutphen and Doesburg. Do the guided tours of the beautiful old town centres, along scenic quays, monumental town houses, interesting shops and have a nice drink in one of the many street cafés. Tip: explore the towns by canoe or pedal boat!
• ‘Paleis ’t Loo’, Apeldoorn: this palace, now a museum, was built by William and Mary and is set in wonderful scenery. Admire its splendid collection and beautiful formal gardens.
• Elburg, a bustling former Zuyder Zee fishing town with Art Galery & Sculpture Garden ‘De Elborgh’
• ‘Kröller-Müller Museum’, Otterlo
• Giethoorn, a village with a very special character; it has narrow canals with many small bridges instead of streets, picturesque farmhouses and wonderful gardens. Discover its beauty by silent electric boat or punt, or on foot or bicycle
• ‘Nederlands Wegenbouwmuseum’ (Dutch Road Construction Museum): on the outskirts of Harderwijk, next to a slip road of the A-28 motorway, is the ‘Bouw & Infra Park Harderwijk’ which has the ‘Nederlands Wegenbouwmuseum’ in its grounds.
