Back to the Ice Age, to the land of the
knights and princesses!
The woods, drifting sands, water, clay, moors and creek ridges that make up ‘Utrechtse Heuvelrug’ (a ridge of low hills) are as varied as the seasons. Sport your hiking shoes, or push the pedals, and go and discover the fingerprints of the Ice Age. Read more about physical activities.
The Utrechtse Heuvelrug is a “princely region” with magnificent gardens and majestic castles. Close your eyes and you will see knights galloping and princesses waving at you.
That is not all the province of Utrecht has to offer. Sample culture and do some culinary discoveries in the many museums and restaurants in the historic cities of Amersfoort and Utrecht, have lots of fun with the children in one of the many theme parks or seek the tranquillity of angling in a river or lake. There are more than enough opportunities for sampling culture, tips with the kids or complete relaxation.
There is no time to get bored. Your holiday on the camping site or bungalow park on ‘Ginkelduin Estate’ will simply fly!
